Health Survey, October 2008

The Standard Schnauzer Health Survey of 2008 enrolled 1450 dogs during the data acquisition period which ended September 1. This is approximately 15% of the dogs alive at some point in the 2002-2007 period.

WE DID GOOD!!

Reports, as the data are analyzed, will be published in the upcoming issues of the P’NS (beginning December 2008) and the Newsletters. A final report is expected to be published in September 2009.

CONCLUSION: The health status of the breed at this time is generally good!

No additional dogs are being enrolled at this time.

As the data continue to be analyzed, the Taskforce will be requesting some limited follow-up data regarding specific conditions beginning in January 2009.
