Mission
The mission of the Standard Schnauzer Club of America, Inc. is to protect and advance the interests of our breed. We appreciate those who would like to help us in fulfilling this mission by offering financial support for SSCA programs and activities. Many people like to make a donation in memory of (or to honor) a specific individual or dog. Currently we have several designated options. Health and rescue are 2 possibilities. In addition, donations can always be made to the general fund to be utilized for educational activities such as speakers for the educational program at the national specialty or conducting health surveys.

Health
The American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation (AKC CHF) works to improve the health and life quality of all dogs. They support research into a wide variety of health issues. The SSCA has established a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) at the AKC Canine Health Foundation. These funds are used to support research which will benefit our breed. The Foundation provides matching funds when the club makes a withdrawal for a research project. Consequently each $1 going into the DAF is worth $2 when paid out - an excellent return on your investment. To make a donation to the go to the Standard Schnauzer Donor Advised Fund on-line.

Rescue
Fortunately SSCA does not face a large number of Standard Schnauzers in need of rescue. However, we want to be sure those dogs in need receive appropriate help. We try to operate a nation-wide network to provide necessary assistance. When a dog is released to SSCA rescue, it is evaluated, health issues addressed and placed in foster care until an appropriate home can be found. The Rescue Chair maintains a list of individuals wanting to adopt a Standard Schnauzer and attempts to match dogs with the families. Costs to rehabilitate and place a dog varies from dog to dog.

At the present time donations to SSCA Rescue cannot be made on line. You may send a check to the SSCA treasurer :
